Griffith Park w/ Ruperto, January 1, 2022

I met Ruperto at Mount Baldy last summer, dude’s all-around awesome and a legend in the running world, so it was a gift to finally align our schedules and, I hope, set the tone for ‘22 with a joy of a 16-miler with plenty of vert gain at Griffith Park on January 1st.

The air and views were incredibly clear and fresh after all the recent rain we’ve been getting, and it was inspiring to see so many people up and out so early on New Years Day.

This run marked a peak in a pretty quick comeback for me after getting the booster shot right after Christmas, and I’m thrilled that I was able to meet the challenge of running with Ruperto with strong legs and a smile.

Much gratitude and many hugs to him, Veronica, and Denise for giving me a perfect kickoff to the year, this absolutely rocked, hyped for the next time we can stack trail miles already!
