Public order, March 19th, 2020, 

every word a spell, taking care 

to conjure a shine on a frame 

we have to say is not locked, 

no shortage of essentials 

still coming in, 

for now, 

it’s scary, those last 

two words, 

but try 

being inaccurate 

or turning away, 

nothing else holds my eyes 

between sleep 

less a dream

than the screens, 

the updates,

and the texts 

I’m screenshotting,

I keep them, the words

I have to hold onto

from you

who I need, 

you, who are 

still with me

while a new world

keeps me staring

at two words

no matter what 

or who 

I’m looking at

for now.
